{Valentine’s Day breakfast} ~ Colorado Springs children’s photographer

This morning we celebrated Valentine’s Day early because my lover and I are going on a little getaway this weekend.  My husband and I woke up early to prepare for the festivities.  I decorated while he made waffles. Of course, if our kids hear the slightest peep they are up my husband had to direct them downstairs to watch some TV while I finished up.  When everything was ready, we called the kids up for breakfast and boy, were they excited!  It was like Christmas when they go see all the presents under the tree.  The first thing they noticed, of course, was the candy centerpiece.  They blurted out comments like “CANDY!” and “Bubs, we get hot cocoa!” and “look, a sucker!”
After we sat down my Kindergartner asked me if we could keep it decorated like that forever.  That made it all worth it.  We enjoyed a sugar overload of waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, hot cocoa with whipped cream, and orange juice.  Their teachers are gonna hate me for sending them to school so wired. Mwa-ha-ha.  It was a lovely morning!
