Jamie Kern Lima: Learn From Billionaire Momboss

This is a segment from an interview with New York Times Bestselling Author and billionaire momboss Jamie Kern Lima. Jamie is the founder of It Cosmetics, a company she started in her living room and grew to the largest luxury makeup brand in the country. She sold the company to L’Oreal in a billion-dollar deal and became the first female CEO of the brand in its 100 plus year history. She has donated over $40 million in product and funds to help women face the effects of cancer with confidence. She’s the author of Believe It in which she shares her struggles of dealing with constant rejection, doubt, and even mean girls.

Jamie talks about how it’s important to be motivated by serving others in business. It is so much more rewarding than doing things for ourselves. It’s about the things that are bigger than us. That being said, they also discuss being bold and knowing when to speak up. Jamie advises women to advocate for themselves, versus being a people pleaser.

Kelli France: It’s Not Your Fault You’re Insecure

The world tells us to be like everyone else so that we won’t stand out. And the world can be a tough place if you do. We are taught to color inside the lines, play it safe and follow the rules, which in turn seem like the best ways to avoid failure. Kelli encourages us to channel our inner childs, and the fearlessness we once had. Many women have only half of the confidence that they should have, when the truth is that we are goddesses! Let’s start treating ourselves that way.

Rory Vaden: How to Build a Powerful Personal Brand

Kell interviews New York Times Bestselling Author of Take The Stairs, Rory Vaden. His insights have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, CNN, Entrepreneur and a variety of other media outlets. He is a Tedx speaker and world renowned public speaker. He is also the founder of Brand Builders Group.

Rory makes the observation that people treat an audience of 1000 people much differently in person than they would on social media. We often overlook the impact we can make on those 1000 people that you have access to on social media. Rory shares his advice on personal branding. “Find your uniqueness so that you can exploit it in the service of others.”

Greg McKeown: Make your Life Easier & Effortless

Kelli interviews Greg McKeown, a New York Times Bestselling author whose book has sold over a million copies! He is also a speaker, podcaster and CEO of McKeown Inc. and has had some impressive clients.

Greg asks the question, what if life didn’t have to be so hard all of the time? By being afraid and anxious we make the challenges of life so much harder. The concept of NOW has been studied extensively in a variety of ways. Recently, NOW has been measured and found that it is between 2 and 3 seconds long. In these new moments, we have so much power to make a new choice.

Melissa Ambrosini: Comparisonitis

Melissa Ambrosini is a bestselling author of Mastering Your Mean Girl, and Open Wide. And the host of the top-rated podcast The Melissa Ambrosini Show with 6.3 million downloads at the time. She is a speaker, entrepreneur and spiritual teacher. Her mission is to inspire others to unlock their full potential and live the lives of their dreams.

In this segment, Melissa talks about preferences as opposed to expectations. When you have preferences you can’t get disappointed. We should have loose preferences and let go of expectations. Melissa believes triggers are an invitation to healing within ourselves. When someone triggers us it has nothing to do with them and everything to do with us.

Judi Holler: Say Yes to Fear & Say No Without Guilt

Judi is the author of Fear is My Homeboy. She is also a speaker, entrepreneur and the CEO of Haus of {&}.

Judi tells a story about working in corporate America by day and doing improv by night. She was learning to become really brave and bold in ways that she had never been before. Judi embraced her fear, and began to transfer the skills she learned in improv to the boardroom, and to life. She made fear her friend.

Jon Acuff: There’s Less Rules Than You Think

Jon is the New York Times bestselling author of seven books. He is also a leadership and motivational speaker.

Jon thinks people place more rules on themselves than actually exist. He relates it to the idea of mom guilt. Kelli and Jon discuss the stories we tell ourselves and how we weave our own stories into narratives based on our own experiences.

Luvvie: Professional Troublemaker

Luvvie is a New York Times Bestselling Author, long-time blogger, and highly sought after speaker. She is also a Ted Talk Speaker and was chosen by Oprah as part of her Super Soul 100 list as someone who elevates humanity.

In this segment Luvvie talks about when we are afraid of speaking up, with fear of the response, we opt out of growth. We are so afraid of failure that we cheat ourselves of the learning part with the worst outcome in mind. She has failed loudly, and publicly, she uses it as an opportunity to do something so much greater.

Lexie & Lindsay Kite: Making Peace with Your Body

These twin sisters are the authors of the book More Than a Body and founders of the nonprofit Beauty Redefined.

This excerpt focuses on how we view our bodies, based on what we’re told through the media. They talk about how self-objectification is limiting us from living our best, fullest lives.
